glitz design: finnley blog hop

hi and happy thanksgiving!!  i hope your day is full of love and happiness!!  we are enjoying this holiday with my husband's family!  lots of cousins, food and fun!!

today is all about the finnley collection and i have to say that this is one of my very favorites.  the papers are gorgeous, the stickers and accent pieces are just stunning…..basically everything is just perfect!

i'm sharing two projects that i created for summer CHA using this collection.  

"little moments"

sweet baby photos are the best.  i kept this page fairly simple by sticking to a "band" design across the middle of my page.  i knew i wanted to use the "la la love you" accent sticker and that was the starting point for this page.   i then added my photo, a few extra stickers and paper layers.

i've had these die cut frames cut for a while and really wanted to use them for something.  they are designed by tina aszmus and i purchased them from studio calico a while back.  when i saw the black paper and red accents from the finnley collection, i knew the white frames would would perfectly with this page!!

i simply filled in the frames with various papers, embellishments and my photo.  i trimmed down the "hello world" from the finnley bits & pieces pack and added to the bottom of my page as a title.  i love the pops of color against the black background!

art class 2...

i am such a big fan of wilna furstenburg.  i love everything she creates and she is one of the most inspiring people i have ever watched or listened to!  joining her for art class 2 over at two peas in a bucket was a no brainer for me.  i loved the first class and still re-watch the videos when i need inspiration.  art class 2 is just as amazing.  i was struck by the "create" bug after watching her this weekend and made so many fun and beautiful projects. they are my faves….

all of these layouts were inspired by lesson 12 of art class 2, which is all about gesso.  i wish you could see these in person!  i just love them all so much!!

a crafty kind of weekend...

we had a crafty little weekend at our house.  we needed some good family time.  i have the "christmas" bug for sure, so we just had to throw in a few fun christmas crafts!  oh…and i obviously have a little obsession with deer this year.  who knew??

i also spent some time watching the lovely wilna furstenburg at art class 2 over at two peas in a bucket.  so totally awesome.  seriously.  go buy the class now.  lesson 12 alone is worth the $25.  :)

this is a quick peek at my inspiration board in my craft room.  it's full of photos, drawings, some of my favorite project life cards and random faves from pinterest.  i'm pretty sure that's one of marcy's project life spreads in the bottom left hand corner.  she's kinda my fave.. :)

gossamer blue: project life week 41

i can't believe we are closing in on the end of the year.  the second book of my 2013 project life album is getting pretty full, but i'm determined to get the whole year in two albums!!  

today, i am sharing week 41 of my album.  i put this spread together using the november life pages kit from gossamer blue.  i love how the pops of red just jump off the page.

nothing too out of the ordinary for this week…..dentist appointments, grocery shopping, baths….

i loved the life pages printables this month and added quite a few to my spread.  i also cut apart several of the journaling cards and added those as little tags…

my new fave is adding photos to text….  just something a little different!!

and that's it!  moving right along in my album!  how is your book coming?

sketch challenges...

there are two sketch challenges running right now in case you have a little extra motivation and want to participate!!  both of the sketches are super fun!  i always love to play around with sketches.  when i start out, i always try to "stick" to the sketch, but in the end, i ALWAYS change things around.  that's the fun part about sketches, though!  you can play around with them and use your creativity to make something beautiful!!

jot magazine: christmas advent bags

december 1st is right around the corner!!

my kids love our advent bags and they look forward to opening them each day.  

they really are so simple to put together and you really only need to raid your christmas stash and pick up some candy!  it's the best way to purge!

diy christmas gifts

i love handmade gifts.  i love making them and love giving them.  i've made my children lots of "special" gifts over the years and i'm looking for some ideas for this year!!
